Matahari ("Company"; stock code: "LPPF") is officially opening its 7th and 8th new stores in East Indonesia at Kawanua City Walk Manado (North Sulawesi) and at The Park Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi). Targeting higher space productivities in more comprehensive but compact formats, Matahari Kawanua City Walk and Matahari The Park Kendari are presented in a fresh, modern atmosphere in a total area of respectively 6,300 m2 and 6,200 m2. Both of these Matahari stores are eco-friendly having 100% LED lighting in an upgraded shopping concept.

While Matahari The Park Kendari is on the main road of the city and around entertainment centers. Matahari Kawanua City Walk is the fourth store in North Sulawesi and the fourth in Manado. While Matahari The Park Kendari is the fourth in Southeast Sulawesi and the third in Kendari. These two new Matahari stores make a total of 146 outlets across Indonesia.
Kawanua City Walk and The Park Kendari are one stop solutions for shopping, lifestyle and entertainment in both cities. Manado consists of more than 470,000 citizens while Kendari has more than 350,000 citizens. Supporting the local economy by employing local people, Matahari Kawanua City Walk has 186 local staff members (100%) and Matahari The Park Kendari has 143 local staff members (70%).
Matahari is also holding a timely CSR program. In conjunction with the grand openings of its two latest stores, Matahari is making a donation of total IDR 40,000,000 for Nursing Home Senja Cerah Paniki, Mosque Jami Baitush Sholihin Kilu Permai Paniki, and Church GMIM Kinamang Kairagi from Matahari City Walk Manado as well as Shabri Kendari Orphanage Foundation, Mosque Attarbiyah, and Mosque Thalabul ilmi from Matahari The Park Kendari. All of the organizations or buildings are located near both new Matahari outlets.
A further two new Matahari outlets will be opened in East Jakarta and Gresik (East Java) in December, making a total business expansion of 10 new stores during 2022. Furthermore, in 2023 Matahari will open 12-15 new stores and is already advancing the forward pipeline of store expansion opportunities and job creation. The total number of stores to be trading nationwide at the end of 2022 will be 148 and is targeted to be 160 or more by the end of 2023.
